Removals. Funny story about a move to a new apartment

We take the way back, suddenly we receive the girl call: Are you far? I beg you to come here again, we have confused the apartment!

In November 2016 we formalised a moving contract with a young client, a medical student, from Las Rozas, Madrid to a small town near Aalborg, Denmark.
It all started regularly, as happens on these occasions: in Las Rozas we were attended by the mother and father of the young woman and after packing all small and large things in her room, we contacted her because in approximately 50 hours we would be in the place agreed, determining as well that we would notify her about the exact time of arrival with 3 - 4 hours in advance.

It is necessary to mention here especially that the client previously passed us the exact coordinates of a gas station to meet her there, because she had the house in a "lost town", where "there is neither mobile nor GPS".
That factor, as well as the order in which we found her room and the fact that she had provided in time the exact inventory of the objects that we should receive, did not give rise to doubts that we had a very organized and scrupulous person.

The route of almost 2800 kilometres ran smoothly, and as agreed we contacted the client to inform about the exact arrival time. Following the GPS instructions, we came to the gas station that was in repairs.

We contacted again to tell her that we were already at the gas station and the girl said: "Me too, but I don't see you". To find out if we were in the right place, we took the photo of the gas station and sent it to her by WhatsApp. It was very curious that she had confused the known gas station with another one that was about 1.5 kilometres away. "These things happen" we thought and started the vehicle to follow the client's car that had arrived in a few minutes.

Our journey didn't take long, and after driving about 3-5 kilometres, the client stopped her vehicle and gestured to indicate the house and where it was the best place to park and unload the truck. Then he went to the house to open the doors. We approached too and "miracle!", the keys did not open the doors. "The real estate agent confused the keys," she reasoned. A phone call to the agency on a Sunday morning was left unanswered.

"The keys don't fit! Well, what do we do? The documents are in my hands, break the door, we have the right…, you have tools, don't you?" That is what we help the client do. We opened the door, unloaded things, fixed all pieces, everything seemed correct. The only thing that seemed strange to us at that time, were the girl's comments: "Why didn't you get the furniture out??? There is a closet, a table, chairs, a sofa that should have been taken ... Can you imagine, in the kitchen the fridge full of food! ... I have to clean it up!!! ", etc.

After checking the integrity and totality of the objects, the girl signed the papers and we said goodbye. Finally, she commented that she would contact us again "because of our punctuality and kindness", once she decides to return to Spain after completing the degree.

We took our vehicle and started the way back, but soon we stopped in a rest area to have a break. And suddenly we received the call from the girl. When responding with a joke of "have you finished the degree?" We heard: "Are you far? I beg you to come here again, we have confused the apartment!" There was no other way, we turned around! In 20 minutes again we were where we left the girl and saw three "Politiet" cars and 6 agents at the door.

As we approached, we were surprised by the tranquillity and almost compressive behaviour of the police officers, it could feel that removing the lock and putting the property in the house of others here is something normal or usual which happens every day.

We had no other choice but to move the belongings to the next-door apartment in half an hour and say goodbye once again, with expectations that that time, we would really meet again in a few years, back to Spain.

Then we maintained contact with her by WhatsApp and that is why we know that she subsequently did not receive any fine or admonishment of any kind for what happened.
